It is interesting to note that some aspects in Brave New World have taken place in today’s society including "test tube babies" and cloning.

Themes and problems dealt with in the novel that also seems to be relevant today. One instance of these topics is the strict control of propagation through technological and medical intervention. In “Brave New World” Huxley describes a society where people are not suppressed by force but kept under control by their biochemical production. He insists on the human right of individual freedom and happiness against every kind of total oppression and open or hidden persuasion. Huxley’s warning of the danger of a dehumanized future world includes such problems as the misuse of political power, sciences and technology, genetic engineering and cloning, world population growth, mass production and consumption, the manipulation of the public opinion and the loss of cultural and ethical values. In contrast to the Utopian novels that are written to convey the impression of a perfect world, dystopian ones warn of a dehumanizing future. Huxley’s Brave New World belongs to the literacy genre “dystopia”. Huxley wants to show that man is both body and spirit. When Lenina is on drugs during the visit in the reservation, she cannot get to know the natives.

So you can realize what happens in your surrounding. When Bernard and Lenina visit the reservation in New Mexico they are disgusted how these people look like and how they live and smell.Īnd it’s also good not to always be on drugs. They should not be excluded just because they’re different from others. We think Aldous Huxley wants to criticise that people who live their life on their own should get respect from the others.
